How does Brian work?
Brian brings together two worlds that are often kept separate: it is both an AI
teaching assistant for smart content creation and an adaptive learning interface.
1.
Teachers create an adaptive practice environment in minutes
Brian works with your own materials and teaching goals and turns them into a visually appealing, playful learning environment with individualized learning paths. Brian works across all subject areas, from the natural sciences and humanities to languages.
2.
Students receive individual support and study independently
The learning environment you create is instantly "playable" on smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Here, students answer open and closed questions, interact with the course-trained AI tutor, and eagerly collect points. Their self-organized learning journeys are fully personalized and they receive support exactly where it is needed.
3.
Teachers save time with automated evaluations
Brian automatically collects real-time data showing the learning progress of both the group and each individual student. This enables teachers to quickly respond to learning difficulties. At the same time, precise data is generated for quality assurance processes without any extra effort.

FAQ
What about data protection?
Brian is data privacy compliant. The processing and storage of all personal data on Brian follow the data protection regulations of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as the provisions of the Swiss Data Protection Act (DPA).
Furthermore, Brian's data processing has been audited for data security by various educational institutions in Switzerland and Germany at both cantonal and state levels. These audits confirmed Brian's compliance with the DPA and GDPR.
You can find more information here in our privacy policy.
What are the costs?
We work with a flexible licensing model. Costs are comparable to the price of a standard textbook per year per learner.
All-inclusive: There are no restrictions on usage intensity. The license includes unlimited usage (tokens) for learners and teachers.
How is Brian different from other AI tools?
Unlike other AI tools, Brian combines the creation of learning content with its immediate implementation in a digital, adaptive learning world.
- Evolving learning environment: While many tools only create static content (a worksheet or a one-time quiz), Brian transforms your material into a constantly evolving learning world that adapts to individual learners and provides them with personal support.
- Feedback and analytics: Because content creation is linked to a digital learning environment, students receive immediate feedback on their progress, which boosts their learning and saves you time on corrections. At the same time, the teacher receives detailed learning analytics on performance to keep a clear overview.
You can find more info about our educational context here.
Does Brian replace the teacher?
No, quite the opposite. We want to support teachers, not replace them.
Creating individualized teaching material and grading take time—time that is then missing for direct interaction with students. Brian takes on the role of an AI Tutor that creates tasks, grades them, and answers questions 24/7. This gives teachers the freedom to focus on what matters most: the individual support of their students and classroom discussion.
What types of schools and levels is Brian suitable for?
Brian is generally suitable for all educational levels, as the AI's language and complexity can be adapted to the respective level.
However, our focus is on the following areas:
- Secondary Level 1 + 2 (comprehensive schools, high schools, vocational schools, etc.)
- Higher Education (universities of applied sciences, universities, technical colleges, etc.)
How is Brian used?
We see Brian as a tool for self-directed learning. We don't want to replace face-to-face teaching, but rather revolutionize self-study time. Brian is perfect as an:
- Interactive homework tool.
- Exam preparation (with formative assessment).
- Preparation tool for class or seminar activities.
- Companion in 'Flipped Classroom' scenarios.
Since we are not a summative assessment tool, our focus is on individual learning growth and real-time error analysis.
Which subjects is Brian suitable for?
Brian is content-agnostic and works in all subject areas:
- Natural Sciences (STEM): Brian uses LaTeX for formulas and code blocks, and supports complex calculations (e.g., chemistry, physics).
- Languages: With text-to-speech, vocabulary training, and AI dialogues for grammar (e.g., English, French, Spanish, Russian, etc.).
- Humanities: Ideal for text analysis and argumentation training (e.g., history, religion, ethics).
- Practical subjects: In subjects like music or sports (theory), Brian supports the teaching of the theoretical foundation.
Does Brian also offer teaching materials?
No, because you know best what your class needs. Brian allows you to transform your own material (documents, texts, videos) into an adaptive learning world in just a few minutes—100% tailored to your curriculum.
This guarantees that the AI only conveys knowledge that is verified and relevant to your classes.
Can I test Brian?
Yes! You can get access to a 14-day free trial via this form.
Additionally, you can experience Brian from the student perspective right away: go to student.brian.study and use the code test-test to view sample courses.
Which AI models does Brian use?
We make no compromises when it comes to educational quality. That's why we exclusively use the most powerful and advanced language models currently available. The technical foundation (e.g., via Microsoft Azure OpenAI) ensures maximum quality and data security. We continuously evaluate new AI models to ensure that Brian always delivers the best didactic quality.
